Bellows Applications
The selection of a bellows unit and the design process is a specialist process. In selecting a bellows expansion joint, the design engineer is expected to have full training on the behaviour of process plant installed bellows. It is this key requirement that often means that owners of process plants require that the use of bellows expansion joints should be as a last resort, when compact and economic design cannot be achieved with expansion loops and/or the structural flexibility achievable from the piping route.
The piping engineer is able to consult with us on the properties of a bellows unit for a process duty o complete the piping design work, when a bellows unit necessary. Most piping design programs on requires the spring rate and the mean diameter of the convolutions to proceed.
